50 Shades of Red

Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters 2016 Show

A taste of our Red and White Challenge
Welcome to the Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters 50 Shades of Red show!  The preparations for this show began 2 years ago right after the last show and no doubt we'll be taking a deep breath and then we'll get started on the 2018 show!  The Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters are a small group so it was pretty amazing to see the variety of quilts on display.

I'd personally like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped out.  The show isn't just the lovely things you see on the day but the whole run up beforehand and most of those tasks are fairly boring and time consuming to be honest so thank you to everyone who pitched in to help.

I also have to thank the husbands who came to set up and bring down the stands as without them we'd probably still be there unpacking it all now!

Thanks must also go to our judge who had the unenviable task of choosing just a few quilts out of all the fantastic ones in front of her, Janette McInnes from The Plain Needlewoman

The show was attended by two shops so I'd like to thank Pauline from Patchworks Unlimited who provided prizes for our "Other Item" category and Janette from Statewide Sewing Centre Highpoint who kindly donated a Janome 1221 sewing machine to our charity raffle this year.

Lastly, I have to thank the ladies at St Mary's church hall for providing refreshments on the day.  The money they raised goes towards helping a community in Chibobo, Zambia.

So, step inside and enjoy our show.  Pictures will be enlarged if you click on them.

Proudly supporting CFA Sunbury

In our foyer we proudly displayed the quilt which was
1st prize in our raffle to raise funds for CFA Sunbury.  This quilt was made by members of our group.

  1. Hello there! Just wondering what happened to the photo or comment about the viewer's choice quilt? As "The Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters are a lovely, welcoming group" I would hope that they would be an inclusive and friendly group that welcome all efforts by all members, not just those it deems to be worthy.

    1. Hi Kylie, I just saw this comment. I took all the photos on Sunday morning while the hall was empty and before the Viewers Choice had been decided. I then didn't have a good photo of the winning quilt so couldn't include it but luckily Glo did and did the honours.
